HUMAN TRAFFICKING/TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS
The issue of Human Trafficking has gotten much traction over the past two years as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines had come under scrutiny in the Trafficking in Persons Report 2011 (TIP Report). In that report Saint Vincent and the Grenadines was described as ” a likely source, transit, and destination country for some children and adults subjected to forced labor and sex trafficking.” (TIP REPORT 2011). The government worked diligently to pass the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Bill in 2011 and formed a Task Force charged with the responsibility of investigating, prosecuting offenders and protecting victims.
